Naturally good sound

This is a Sky News package about the Civil War in Libya. The correspondent is Alex Crawford who has won lots of awards for her work.

Listen to how natural sound is used in this package.

When you’re out filming, your camera is recording sound as well as images. Obviously, the sound won’t normally be as dramatic as gunfire and explosions, but it can still end up being very useful when you edit your story. So it’s important you aren’t always talking over your rushes. Keep quiet while you’re filming.

In radio, when you are making a package, you should always record a minute or so of natural sound at each location you visit.
